Sola kitchens was founded by Sofia Bune Strandh in 2006. Whilst searching for kitchen furniture for her own flat in central London, Sofia had in her mind the high quality cabinets she was used to in her native Sweden. Unable to find just what she wanted in the UK she began a search for a company with the traditional carpentry techniques and designs she was looking for. Having had her kitchen installed, Sofia was so thrilled with the quality and style of her new kitchen that she gave up her career as a solicitor to start Sola Kitchens so that others could also benefit from the pleasure of Scandinavian kitchen furniture. She started working with long established Swedish manufacturer Lidhults, who specialise in bespoke solid wood kitchens and interiors in classic styles.
Creating designs with an emphasis on the use of simple lines and clever use of storage to enhance open plan spaces, Sofia wanted to add to the Sola family a more contemporary cabinet form. Almost as important as the clean aesthetic was the desire to find a Scandinavian cabinet maker with the same exceptional build methods as Lidhults, and one that could also offer a truly bespoke solution.
Multiform, known through-out Denmark for its contemporary designs and strong linear elements, combines an excellence in joinery with a desire to create modern visual forms. From the iconic, timber slat construction of Form 1 to the precision engineered mitres and completely book matched furniture in Form 45, Multiform cabinets can be designed and built to almost any dimension, with tailor made internal fittings to create perfect order even in the busiest of homes.
