Sola Kitchens proudly unveils Gerakas, its most expressive Signature Style to date, created in collaboration with acclaimed interior designer Miaki. This new style is born from the meeting of two worlds: the warmth and tactility of the Aegean South, and the simplicity and craftsmanship of the Scandinavian North.

A New Signature Style Where Aegean Soul Meets Scandinavian Structure.

“We wanted to bring the soul of the Aegean together with the structure and craftsmanship of Scandinavia,” says Sofia Bune Strandh, Founder of Sola Kitchens. “It’s a chance to bring two worlds together and create something new, something people haven’t seen before.”

The name itself, Gerakas, is taken from a fjord-like bay in Greece, often described as a little piece of Scandinavia in the heart of Greece. Unlike the open and often rugged Greek coastline, Gerakas is tucked inside a narrow, deep-sea channel that looks strikingly similar to a Scandinavian fjord and has a tranquil, almost otherworldly feel.

A symbolic meeting point of cultures, it was the perfect name for a kitchen style that blends north and south through expressive materiality with timeless structure.

A Story of Contrast, Unity, and Craft

“The Aegean is all about raw textures, crisp whites, and that endless blue. It has soul, warmth, and tactility,” says Mia Kitsinis Legeay, Founder of Miaki. “And the North is defined by simplicity, structure, and craftsmanship,” adds Sofia. “For us, it was about bringing those two worlds together.”

Gerakas is not just a kitchen; it is a narrative, hand-crafted in Sola Kitchens’ workshops. A celebration of contrasts, where minimal lines and clean joinery are softened by curved edges, textile-inspired panels, and a palette drawn from nature.

The versatility of the collection means it can be used for much more than just kitchens and works beautifully for other furniture, such as bar areas, freestanding sideboards, and wardrobes.

Every element is carefully curated to harmonise. Clients are free to mix and match materials, knowing each choice will work beautifully within the design system.

Where Aegean Soul Meets Scandinavian Structure

Signature Finishes & Tactile Textures

Sola Kitchens, together with Miaki, has chosen a range of different woods, textures, and materials for the new collection. The collection consists of seven frame options in different woods, lacquer and metal finishes, which can be combined with six different textures for the centre panels.

The idea with the new collection is that clients can freely mix and match the different materials, knowing that they will all work perfectly together while at the same time provide very different looks, from dark and moody to light and bright.

It is not just about materiality; it’s the detailing that defines Gerakas. A slim fretting runs through the centre of each frame, lending a quiet architectural rhythm to the doors, a modern take on traditional panelling. This is complemented by a gentle curve that softens the geometry of the design, creating a subtle, sculptural silhouette that feels both structured and organic.

“All the small details matter,” says Mia. “We wanted to capture that magic from past projects and turn it into something people could actually bring into their homes.”

A Meeting of Two Design Philosophies

“This is a collaboration between Miaki and Sola Kitchens — a meeting of two design philosophies,” says Sofia.

The result is a furniture collection with soul, story, and substance, rooted in contrast, crafted in harmony, and made to last. Whether styled with Mediterranean warmth or Nordic restraint, Gerakas is an invitation to bring both into the heart of the home.
