A kitchen inspired by the colours and calm of the coastline
Bathed in natural light and layered with beautifully tactile materials, Nordic Tide blends understated Scandinavian design with subtle coastal influences. Limed oak cabinetry, soft blue glazed tiles and carefully crafted detailing create a kitchen that feels both elegant and effortlessly relaxed, a space designed for everyday family life as much as entertaining.
The Brief
The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt warm, welcoming and timeless while remaining highly practical for modern family living. Open-plan in nature, the space needed to connect seamlessly with the surrounding rooms while offering generous storage, dedicated zones for entertaining and a strong sense of craftsmanship throughout.
A natural, calming palette was key, with an emphasis on texture, light and longevity rather than trends.
To achieve this balance, our designers combined two of Sola’s Signature Styles — Sletten and Skog. The clean simplicity of Sletten cabinetry is complemented by the textural depth of Skog panelling, creating a subtle rhythm throughout the space.
Limed oak veneered doors introduce warmth and character, while the softly reflective blue tiled splashback evokes the colours of sea and sky, bringing a gentle coastal influence to the design. Silestone Ethereal Glow worktops provide a crisp, luminous surface that enhances the light-filled interior and creates a beautiful contrast against the natural timber.
Open shelving and integrated lighting add visual interest while allowing treasured ceramics and decorative pieces to become part of the design. The generous island forms the heart of the room, providing ample preparation space, informal seating and a natural gathering point for family and friends.
Beyond the main kitchen, a dedicated walk-in pantry extends the material palette, creating a seamless transition between spaces and offering additional storage, preparation and entertaining functionality.
Special Features
The signature Skog detailing introduces texture and depth to the space, transforming the island and feature walls into architectural focal points. Crafted in limed oak, the vertical slatted finish enhances the natural warmth of the timber while reinforcing the kitchen’s Scandinavian character.
Designed as a natural extension of the main kitchen, the bespoke walk-in pantry provides additional storage, preparation space and entertaining functionality. Finished in matching limed oak with an untoughened silver mirror splashback and Artscut Verona worktop, it combines practicality with understated luxury while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic throughout.
The Silestone Ethereal Glow worktops bring a bright, elegant contrast to the natural oak cabinetry. Their subtle veining and luminous appearance help maximise the feeling of light and space, while providing a highly durable and practical surface for everyday family life.
